Welcome to 2012! What an interesting year this promises to be for Georgie’s English Kitchen & Garden! My kitchen has been buzzing with wonderful new ideas to share with you.
January can be very unforgiving to those in the northern climates. On the other hand, Louisiana enjoys fairly mild winters with the temperature dipping below freezing for only brief periods of time. Still, I do so enjoy a warm fire and the smell of freshly baked scones and shortbread coming from the kitchen. A jar of delicious Fresh Lemon Curd on hand. You can now order our Fresh Lemon Curd online! It comes two jars to a package, one to enjoy and one to share. Curl up by the fire, pop a few scones or a round of shortbread in the oven, and take time to reflect on the New Year.
February is right around the corner and soon it will be time to share and celebrate love. Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to recognize those people who are so special in our lives. Honor them with a special gift of scones or shortbread and a jar of Fresh Lemon Curd. Bake up our scones or shortbread, place in a gift bag , tie with red ribbon, present with a jar of Fresh Lemon Curd and you have made someone’s day. Beautiful, delicious and so simple!
For a romantic evening that will WOW your honey bunny, carefully spread a baked round of shortbread with the Fresh Lemon Curd and arrange with scrumptious fresh strawberries, raspberries or the fruit of your choice. Pair with champagne or your favorite white wine. Devine!

Beginning January 20th, by popular demand our shop will be open from 9am – 2pm every Friday! We will have freshly baked items, as well as Georgie’s famous Lemon Curd Cheesecake, Shortbread Apple Torte and the Millionaire Shortbread. Quiches and Seasonal Soups will also be available. You can order your Valentine gifts and Mardi Gras treats online or in person. Be sure to mark your calendars and stop by!
