A time for tea

A Time for Tea
Dainty, delectable and, most importantly, delicious. These words only begin to describe Georgie’s English Tea and Garden baked goods, which were served Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Petroleum Club of Acadiana’s quarterly tea party.

Groups of women dressed in Sunday best sat at round tables draped in white linen, where they sipped teas and sampled finger foods. In front of each woman sat a small ivory-colored china pot full of steaming water beside a variety of tea bags. Glasses full of sparkling champagne and plates full of delicate sandwiches crowded each table. Attendees picked from salmon on cucumber rounds, chicken salad sandwiches and open-top tomato and spinach sandwiches, all interlaced with deep greens and magenta flowers.
